Romania Mission Trip 2011

Romania Mission Trip

  Romania Mission Trip November 7-17

Our mission work in Romania began in 1992. Communism had just falled and the country was open to the gospel.Since under Communism they were not allowed to build churches we met in houses that were open to us. These houses were filled with hungry hearted people. From that we began to buy vacant houses that could be turned into a church. We also raised money to buy land where churches could be build.

When we began the work I would take 100 people on two trips in November. We would have 50 on each trip. These people raised money to buy land and houses for churches. Each year we would take well over $100,000.00. The Lord has enabled us to take part in building 56 churches.

The ministry has expanded over the years. People did not have Bibles so we began buying Bibles in the Romanian language. We bought between $5,000 and $10,000 dollars worth of Bibles each year. These were giving out to families and sometime on thestreet.

We also worked with a medical clinic that started just after the fall of communism. We shipped contianers with medicine, medical supplies and clothing. Each year we give them some money to buy medicine.

Pastors have several churches but even then they cannot make enough to take care of their families. We began a Pastor's support fund. A lot of pastors recieve a check each month.

We also have a Widow's Fund. Thousands of dollars have been used to buy food and clothing for poor families.

In the spring we are taking work teams that do construction. We go in April and like to take at least 15 men. We stay for two weks and build a church.

Our work in November includes men, women, and young people from every walk of life. We minister in homes, schools, prisons and in churches. We have preaching services, teaching services for woman and studies for children.

Mission Trip Update
We thank you for your prayers and financial support for God's work in Romania.  The Bibles were given to Romania people who have never had a Bible before.  It was a great witness to tell people about God.  God used us to share His love to a country of loss people.  We went to churches, prisons, and homes where we were able to provide god's word along with clothes and food.

We felt your prayers as we served god in His work.

India

Since 1990 Pastor Butch and others have been traveling to India to do evangelism and church planting.  India is one of the most un-Christian nations on the planet and it boast the 2nd highest population in the world.  It is truly a land where the 'fields are plenty, but the laborers few.'  In the next year Red Bank plans to start a seminary to train local pastors.

Nicaragua

Red Bank will soon be sending a team to Nicaragua.  Nicaragua is one of the poorest nations in the Western Hemisphere.  The local church is strong and we look to join in by encouraging pastors and feeding and ministering to the people.

Jamaica

Though Jamaica would seem like a tropical paradise, once you get beyond the hotels and the tourist spots, you can see the real Jamaica.  It a place in desperate need, both of the Gospel and basic necessities.

West Virginia

Red Bank has been reaching out to the people in western West Virginia for several years.  Teams have gone into extremely poor areas to do building projects, VBS and clothing outreach.

Bardstown, KY

The youth group will be traveling to Bardstown KY, to help a sister Baptist church do local mission work and lead a VBS.  They will also be doing a Christian soccer camp and going into Louisville to do some street and skate park evangelism.
